Charlatans in the medical profession
The medical profession is supposed to be ethical and caring. However, it's not alweays the case and Chichester has some crooks and charlatans amongst its medical practitioners; people who are respected in the city.
There is the consultant radiologist, whose son was arrested and charged with criminal damage of a particularly unpleasant kind involving malicious vandalism in which he also libelled his innocent victim, who perverted the course of justice by writing a letter to the magistrates in which he accused his son's victim of committing a series of criminal offences and of behaving offensively. His son was let off with a little slap on the wrist, as was his co-defendant, and there is no doubt at all that this letter played a part, all the more since his son had been recommended at the previous court hearing to receive a 'community punishment', ie community service.
Then there is another consultant, asked to provide a medico-legal report, who angled it in such a way that it minimised the victim's injuries and minimised the defendant's liability (the defendant in this case being the local council). She also denied the victim treatment he required, mocked him, made 'humorous' comments about him to other doctors, and when he complained about his treatment she prescribed a range of drugs which nearly killed him. She stuck up for the Chichester establishment, of which she is a member, and thwarted justice for the victim. This particular woman then sat on his file for five years and denied him the treatment he required. The last time she saw him, in Woolworths, she made it plain she hated him by the way she glared at him. Was she under the influence of alcohol? She has been seen in Waitrose buying huge quantities of booze...
These charlatans have been protected so far from the consequences of their actions... but they are soon to be named and shamed. Who knows; one or both might be struck off and prevented from damaging the lives of any more innocent people.
